Hotel Liège Congrès

Van der Valk has two hotels in the city of Liège, namely Hotel Liège Congrès and Hotel Liège Sélys. Hotel Liège Congrès opened its doors in July 2018 and is located near the beautiful Parc de la Boverie, which is free to access.

The Belgian city of Liège, or Luik as the Dutch call it, is located near the Dutch border. It is about a half-hour drive from Maastricht to the hotel. The location is easily accessible by car and public transport. The hotel is 1 kilometer away from Liège-Guillemins station. In the Netherlands, Liège is mostly known for its Liège waffles, although they are not as easy to find in Liège itself. You may be lucky to taste the famous waffles at a few patisseries.

Discover the city of Liège

Get to know the city really well by visiting the Citadel of Liège. Here you will also find the famous staircase of Montagne de Bueren. It involves a steep climb of no less than 374 steps, but you will be rewarded with a beautiful view over the city of Liège. If you stay at the hotel over the weekend, you can visit La Batte on Sunday morning. This market on Quai de Maestricht is a whopping 5 kilometers long and is located, just like the hotel, on the Meuse River. Additionally, it is recommended to visit the cozy district of La Cárre in the center of Liège during your stay.

The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, beauty salon and wellness. You can treat yourself by booking a treatment at the beauty salon. It is also possible to use the facilities in the fitness center, which are free for all hotel guests.

The gem of the hotel is definitely the Skybar. Order a cocktail during happy hour and enjoy the beautiful view over the city of Liège. The advantage of the Skybar is that you don't have to climb 374 steps first to be rewarded with a drink.
